Honda Finishes December with Sales Growth and Claims Second-Best Annual Sales
Holiday decorations are coming down, but Honda will keep its recently-earned accolade to decorate the Honda name for a while longer. As December came to a close, Honda rolled in its final sales number count for the month and revealed its second best annual sales total–something we’ll celebrate for some time here at Preston Honda!
American Honda Motor Co. finished the year with 135,255 Honda and Acura vehicles sold in December (a 1.9 percent increase and 5.9 percent increase based on the Daily Selling Rate), and for the year, it sold 1,525,312 units.
As for the Honda Division, annual sales resulted in 1,359,876 units sold, which is a 7.4 percent increase over 2012’s results. The Honda Division also cranked out solid sales for December with a final total of 119,504 vehicles, earning a 2.4 percent increase versus December 2012.
“Breaking our December sales record is a great way to finish a near-record year, but perhaps more significantly, the CR-V joins Accord and Civic as the third Honda vehicle to sell more than 300,000 units per year for the first time in history,” shares John Mendel, the executive vice president of sales at American Honda.1
Clearly, Honda a variety of Honda models continue to appeal to customers nationwide including here in New Castle, PA. The previously-mentioned CR-V also happened to post its best December with 28,759 units, and the also aforementioned Accord and Civic posted sales increase percentages for the year with a 10.5 percent and 5.7 percent growth over 2012, respectively.
